Redheads Matchbox Perfect Match Art Contest (the “Contest”) Terms & Conditions:
A GAME OF SKILL NOT CHANCE
Redheads Matchbox Perfect Match Art Contest (the “Contest”) Terms & Conditions:
A GAME OF SKILL NOT CHANCE
The contest is open to all Australian residents, regardless of age.
How to Enter
To enter, complete an original artwork for a redesigned front panel of a Redheads Matchbox. The artwork must incorporate the theme “Perfect Match” into some aspect of the finished design. This could be any type of “perfect match” – for example, sausages and bread, cricket and BBQs, green and gold, kangaroos and the outback, steak and lobster, bacon and eggs, horse and jockey, fork and spoon, a favourite pair of shoes, Romeo and Juliet, etc. The contest is designed to be fun and it offers complete creative scope to the artist.
Once completed, submit the entry by a high-resolution photograph of the artwork as described below. Please retain the original artwork and do not send it to the Sponsor. In the event that your artwork is selected as a winner, the Sponsor will contact you in relation to procedures for obtaining the original artwork, which once supplied becomes the property of the Sponsor, and you waive any copyright ownership interest in submitted artwork.
By entering the competition, you confirm that you are the sole creator of the artwork.
Entries may be submitted at facebook.com/redheadsmatches, or by Twitter or Instagram, with the contest hashtag #RedheadsPerfectMatch. One entry per person. You acknowledge that you abide by the terms and conditions of Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, and that you are providing your personal details to Redheads Matches, and not to Facebook, Twitter or Instagram.
Entries may not contain content that is sexually explicit, violent, derogatory of any ethnic, racial, gender, religious, profession or age group, which violates any law; or is overtly/aggressively political/partisan, or seeks to publicise a political party, legislative or public policy agenda/issue or which communicates messages inconsistent with the positive good will to which we wish to associate.
Any entries that violate this provision will be deleted at the sponsor’s sole discretion.
The winners agree that the Sponsor may use their name, likeness, image and/or voice, including having photographs/film taken with the winning artwork, for use in any future promotional, marketing or publicity purpose (the content, format and style of which will be determined by the Sponsor at its sole discretion), in any media worldwide without notice and without any fee being paid to the entrant. It is a condition of entering this competition that each entrant agrees to assign all their rights, title and interest (including copyright) in and to their matchbox design to the Sponsor.
The prizes
Cash prizes will be awarded to the first, second and third placed designs, in the amounts of $5,000, $2,000 and $1,000 respectively. First, second and third placed designs may also appear on an upcoming limited release matchbox to be distributed to retail stores nationally.
In addition, three “people’s choice” winners will be awarded based on voting on the Facebook platform. The top ten vote getters will go into a people’s choice “pool” from which a judging panel will select three winning designs that, while not eligible for a cash prize, may appear on a limited release Redheads Matchbox. Public voting for the people’s choice winners will be open for the duration of the contest. Any attempts to abuse or cause technical manipulation of the voting system - including but not limited to the use of fake Facebook profiles, or efforts to "buy" voting activity - may cause the disqualification of the entry at the Sponsors sole discretion at any time. Entries in the people's choice pool will also be judged on the basis of creativity and artistic quality.
First, second and third cash prizes, and the three people’s choice winners, will be awarded by a judging panel consisting of Redheads’ executives, a professor of art from a recognised Australian university or equivalent and a member of the Australian Matchcover Collectors Society. The primary judging criteria will be creativity and artistic quality. All decisions of the judging panel are final and no correspondence will be entered into.
Winners will be announced via the Redheads Facebook page on or before 22 May 2014.
Cash prizes will be paid to all winners by electronic banking transfer within 30 days of the completion of the contest. If you are under 18 years of age at the completion of the contest, the Sponsor reserves the right to make prize payment to your parent, or legal guardian on your behalf.
As a condition of accepting any prize, winners may be required to sign any legal documentation as and in the form required by the Sponsor in their absolute discretion, including but not limited to a legal release and indemnity form.
The artwork must conform to the legal concept of an “original” artwork – meaning that it must be original artwork created by the artist submitting the entry, and not based on any other copyrighted work in whole or in part. Any entry that that is not deemed to be “original” artwork will be disallowed at the sole discretion of the sponsor.
The contest Sponsor is Redheads (trading as ST-Group Australia Pty Ltd), 718 Princess Highway, Springvale, Victoria, 3171, Australia.
Employees and immediate relatives of the Sponsor are not eligible to participate (parent, sibling, spouse, child) or household member.
Entries will be open from noon Feb. 5, 2015, AEST and close on April 30, 2015, AEST at 5:00 pm.
If a virus, bug, technical failure or catastrophic event, or any other unforeseen or unexpected event that cannot be reasonably anticipated or controlled, affects the fairness and/or integrity of this contest, the sponsor reserves the right to cancel, change or suspend this contest. If a solution cannot be found to restore the integrity of the contest, we reserve the right to select winners from among all eligible entries received before we had to cancel, change or suspend the contest.
