Escape Garden at the Gourmet Village on Sunday 19th November Set in a beautiful vineyard, festival-goers rub shoulders with some of the world’s best chefs in a delicious, fun-filled environment. There’ll be cooking demonstrations, intimate conversations about the latest trends in food and wine, live music and plenty of food and wine from WA’s leading restaurants, wineries and food producers.
The Official Closing Party Watch the sunset over the Indian Ocean as you enjoy a cocktail especially created for the closing party by new wave mixologist Vijay Mudaliar, owner of Singapore’s most imaginative cocktail bar, Native and winner of the Most Creative Cocktail Bar at The Bar Awards Singapore 2017. Serving up inventive and exciting Asian inspired snacks will be multi award-winning chef Dan Hong (Mr. Wong & Ms. G’s), one of Sydney’s most creative talents.

Entry Restrictions:
The Competition is open to Australian residents only, aged 25 and over. Entrants must be the holder of a full Australian driver’s licence. Entry is open to Australian residents only who are available to travel to, and be at Margaret River, WA on Fri 17th November 2017 - Mon 20th November 2017. Employees of the Promoter, the Prize Supplier(s) and associated companies and their immediate families are ineligible. Entry must be submitted in accordance with entry requirements to be deemed valid. Entrants must be available to travel on the specified dates.
Competition Period:
Commences: 10:00 am AEST on 14/08/2017.
Closes: 10:00 am AEST on 04/09/2017.
Maximum Number of Entries: Only one (1) per person.
How to enter:
During the Competition Period, entrants must go to http://www.sbs.com.au/foodnetwork and follow the directions to complete the online entry form.
Entrants must register their details, including (but not limited to) name, address and phone number and agree to be automatically signed-up to the SBS Food Network newsletter.
Entrants must answer the following question in 25 words or less:
“Why you would like to go to this year’s Margaret River Gourmet Escape.”
Major Prize:
One Major Prize winner will receive a trip to Margaret River Gourmet Escape for two people. The prize will include:
Return economy flights for two people from the winner’s closest major domestic airport capital city, leaving Friday 17th November and returning Monday 20th November.
4 days car hire, pick up and drop back to Perth airport.
3 nights' accommodation (minimum 4-star hotel).
Festival tickets include:
2 x tickets to The Great Soiree at Fraser Gallop on Friday 17th November
2 x tickets to the Feast in the Forest Dinner on Saturday 18th November
2 x tickets to Escape Garden at the Gourmet Village on Sunday 19th November
2 x tickets to The Official Closing Partyon Sunday 19th November
The total value of the Major Prize is valued at up to AUD$5,000 (RRP) inclusive of GST.
There is one prize to be won.
Travel Prize Conditions:
Winner must be over the age of 25. Travel companion must be over 18.
Travel must be taken up in conjunction with attendance at the event between Friday 17th November and Monday 20th November.
The Major Prize must be booked through IMG Culinary, Gourmet Escape marketing team prior to 27th September. Bookings are subject to availability and are not re-routable. Once booked and approved by the prize supplier, any changes may incur a cancellation fee or amendment fee at the cost of the winner. Once tickets have been issued they cannot be changed.
If the winner resides in Perth, the travel element (flights and airport transfers) will be forfeited and transfers to and from home will be arranged instead.
If travel has not been redeemed within this time period, tickets shall be deemed null and void.
The Major Prize winner and their travel companion, will not accrue any frequent flyer points from taking the Major Prize.
Neither SBS nor the prize supplier/s or their associated companies will be held liable for any loss, damage or injury of the results directly or indirectly from the winner taking part in any aspect of the prize. Where relevant, the winner agrees that they take full responsibility for any activities engaged in while travelling and engaging in the prize package and will take out appropriate travel insurance.
Prize winners are responsible for all costs not expressly listed as being included in the prize, including without limitation, meals, entertainment, other travel and accommodation, transfers, passports, visas, re-entry permits, spending money, freights, excess baggage, government taxes, departure taxes, ground transportation any tax liabilities, airport charges, any applicable surcharges and any other related costs. Travel insurance is not included in the prize and will be the responsibility of the winner(s). Travel insurance is highly recommended to protect against the additional costs incurred in the event of unforeseen circumstances.
Major Prize winner must have access to a personal email account.
Major Prize winner will need a credit or debit card in order to provide a security deposit at the hotel upon check-in.
Travel arrangements to and from the nearest capital city airport do not form part of the prize and are the responsibility of the winner.
The prize winner and their travelling companion must travel on the same flight as each other to their destination.
All Major Prize travel will be subject to the Prize supplier’s General Conditions of Carriage. The Promoter and Prize supplier make no representation as to the safety, conditions or other issues that may exist at any destination. It is the responsibility of the winner to enquire about local issues and conditions at destinations before travel.
Neither SBS nor the prize supplier or their associated companies is responsible, to the extent permitted by law, for acts of god, acts of terrorism or war (declared or undeclared) or other events beyond SBS and the prize supplier's control which prevent awarding or acceptance of the prize in accordance with the prize description.
Winner Selection:
One Prize Winner will be selected from all valid entries.
A panel selected by the Promoter will judge all valid entries and the Winner will be selected on 05/09/2017 at 10:00 am AEST at 14 Herbert Street, Artarmon, NSW 2064
Prize Winner Notification:
The Winner will be notified by email and phone on 05/09/2017.
Winners’ names will also be published on the SBS website on 08/09/2017.
Second Chance Draw and notification:
If a Winner cannot be contacted by 5:00PM on 05/09/2017, the Promoter or its nominated agent will select another winner from all valid entries. Second Chance Draw winners will be notified by email and phone on 06/09/2017 and published on the SBS website on 08/09/2017.
