I've Won

I generally win a raffle or two each year - best was probably a pearl necklace in a Relay for Life raffle.
I buy for two reasons: I see it more as a donation to the group involved (although you can't claim a tax deduction for a raffle ticket) but mainly because I ahve been there so often myself selling tickets for various things the kids are involved in.

i always buy raffles aswell, only if I happen to go past one, once I won a basket full of easter eggs with a big teddy bear with a bee on its nose, was so cute, won few cd's from a raffle and some cleaning products from another.

@Npas same, that would be great, although I only ever bought 1 ticket yrs ago, might be time to try that one again

The RSL Art Union is also good. A charity that helps war veterans, fairly topical right now. I've been buying for years and surely it's my turn soon...

We do the Mater Prize on a regular basis. Keep looking at the houses they have as prizes and hoping ...

The boystown raffle only has 375000 tickets but mater and rsl can have anywhere between 1.5m and 6m! Boystown is much better odds!

I'm traumatised by raffles since when I was 8 we had one at school to win this tropical Lego pack. The principal pulled her own name out of the hat! Hahaha.

@bunna I wasnt aware of the odds...but I am subscribed and now feel like it's more of a donation as my chances are slim. thanks

@gumtreepossum that's a bit mean... she shouldn't have been allowed to enter... unless it was a lesson on gambling and she was teaching the kids that they wont win :)

Haha I know it was so naughty! She was like "oh dear, I just pulled my name out. Should I keep it?" And everyone cheered, and she said "My grandkids will love this!" Soooo rigged :P
