Conditions of Entry
1. Information on how to enter the Promotion and the prize form part of these
Conditions of Entry.
2. Entry into this Promotion is deemed to be acceptance of these Conditions of
Entry.
The Promotion is open to individuals who are:
i. Vrewards Members
ii. residents of Victoria and Tasmania;
iii. 16 years old or over;
iv. not employees (or immediate family of such employees) of the
Promoter, or any of its related corporations or any of the agencies
associated with the Promotion (including suppliers of the prize); and
v. persons who have not been discovered to have breached these
Conditions of Entry or the Conditions of Entry of previous contests run by
the Promoter, (“Entrants”).
An immediate family member means spouse, exspouse, de-facto spouse,
child or step-child, parent, step-parent, grandparent, step- grandparent,
uncle, aunt, niece, nephew, brother, sister, step-brother, step-sister or 1st
cousin.
All Entrants aged 16 or older but younger than 18 years of age must first obtain
their parent or guardian’s approval prior to entering this Promotion. If the
winner of a prize is younger than 18 years the prize will be awarded to their
parent or guardian on their behalf.
3. By entering this Promotion, Entrants agree to be bound by these Conditions of
Entry. The Promoter reserves the right to verify the validity of entries and to
disqualify any Entrant who tampers with the entry process or who submits an entry
that is not in accordance with these Conditions of Entry. It is a condition of entry
that Entrants are able to accept the prizes as stated. Inability to accept a prize
as stated, on the dates indicated, will deem the participant an ineligible Entrant
and any prize won will be forfeited.
4. All prices stated are in Australian dollars, represent the recommended retail price
(“RRP”) and include GST. All references to times and dates are to times and dates
in Melbourne, Australian Eastern Standard Time (AEST). All times are stated using
the 24-hour clock.
PRIZE POOL
5. There is one (1) Major Prize which is “A Chance to Win $1 million” and a total of
one hundred thousand (100,000) Instant Win Prizes to be won across all
Participating Cinemas in aggregate. The first valid entry drawn in the Major Prize
Draw will win the opportunity to play the Game.
6. Maximum retail value of the total prize pool (Instant Wins + Major Prize) is
$1,423,000 RRP (inc. GST).
Major Prize Draw

7. The Major Prize draw will be held at 10.00am (AEDT) on Monday 4 February 2019
at Village Cinemas Head Office, 500 Chapel Street, South Yarra, VIC, 3141.The
first valid Entry drawn will be the Major Prize draw winner and will be contacted
by phone and email within 2 business days of the draw, and their name & locality
will be published online (villagecinemas.com.au) for a minimum period of 28
days.
8. The Promoter may draw additional Eligible Entries in the Prize Draw and record
them in order to use in the event an ineligible entry or entrant is drawn or the
Drawn Participant or nominated proxy cannot attend the Game.
9. The Promoter reserves the right to redraw the Major Prize in the event of an
Entrant failing to comply with these Conditions of Entry or forfeiting or not
claiming the prize by Friday 8 February 2019. If the Major Prize remains unclaimed
by that date, a second chance draw will be held at 10.00am (AEDT) on Monday
11 February 2019 at Village Cinemas Head Office, 500 Chapel Street, South Yarra,
VIC, 3141. Disposal of any unclaimed prize may be made subject to any written
directions given by any government authority and pursuant to any relevant
legislation. The unclaimed Major Prize draw winner will be contacted by phone
and email within 2 business days of the draw, and their name & locality will be
published online (villagecinemas.com.au) for a minimum period of 28 days.
10. The winner must be able to attend the Game. Major Prize must be taken as
stated and no compensation will be payable if the winner is unable to attend or
partake in the game as stated.
Consolation Prize
11. If the Drawn Participant does not win the $1 million Major Prize, they will win a
consolation prize of a VIP Movie Pass. (“Consolation Prize”).
12. The VIP Movie Pass entitles the Drawn Participant to two complimentary tickets
every day for a year valid at all Village Cinemas, Event and BCC Cinemas. Only
two complimentary tickets per session permitted. Seating is subject to availability.
Not valid for movie sessions starting after 5pm on Saturday. Not valid for Gold
Class, group bookings, special events, movie marathons or in conjunction with
any other offer or promotion unless otherwise stated. VIP Movie Pass is not
transferrable and cannot be sold or exchanged for cash or other gift products.
Complimentary tickets will only be issued 30 minutes prior to session start time.
The Game
13. The Game will take place at Village Cinemas Jam Factory (Game Location) on
12/02/2019 in the presence of competition representatives nominated by the
Promoter and it’s insurer(“Judges”).
14. There will be one hundred (100) popcorn boxes on display at the start of the
Game. One (1) popcorn box will contain a promotional message representing
the $1,000,000 prize. The other ninety-nine (99) envelopes will each contain a
promotional message representing the Consolation Prize..
15. The Drawn Participant must choose only one (1) popcorn box without touching,
handling or interfering in any way with any of the other envelopes on display. If
the Drawn Participant is found to have breached this condition, they will be
disqualified. If the Drawn Participant selects the envelope containing the
promotional message representing the $1,000,000 prize, then, subject to
verification by the Judges, the Drawn Participant will win $1,000,000.
If the Drawn Participant selects an envelope containing a promotional message
representing the Consolation Prize, then the $1,000,000 prize will not be given
away and, subject to verification by the Judges, the Drawn Participant will
receive a VIP Movie Pass.
16. Prize money will be awarded, at the absolute discretion of the Promoter,
in Australian dollars to an Australian bank account nominated by the Drawn
Participant.
17. One (1) nights’ accommodation at an establishment selected by the Promoter
(minimum three (3) stars, twin-share) is provided to the Drawn Participant and
included in the Prize. The Drawn Participant may select a companion to attend
the Game with them and share the accommodation. The Drawn Participant
must hold a valid credit card and present it upon check in at the
accommodation to cover any incidental or other hotel charges.
18. If the Drawn Participant resides in Tasmania, the Promoter will liaise with the
Drawn Participant to organise travel for the Drawn Participant and their
nominated companion to Melbourne. for the Drawn Participant to play the
Game.
19. The travel will include return economy flights from Tasmania to Melbourne, and
airport/hotel/Game location transfers in Melbourne. Flights must be taken to
coincide with the Game, departing and returning on the dates as determined
by the Promoter. Spending money, meals, taxes (excluding airline and airport
taxes if applicable), insurance, transport to and from departure point, additional
transfers and all other ancillary costs are not included. All travel components to
be taken together as a single trip as booked by the Promoter. Once booked, no
changes to the booked are permitted.
20. If the Drawn Participant cannot attend the Game, the Drawn Participant may
appoint a proxy over 18 years of age to play the on his/her behalf provided that
the Drawn Participant gives the Promoter written, signed notice to that effect
and at least 48 hours before the start of the Game.
21. The Drawn Participant’s odds of winning the $1,000,000 prize are 1 in 100.
22. The total maximum potential value of the Game prize money is up to $1,000,000.
23. The Game event and associated travel/accommodation cannot be sold,
scalped, auctioned, raffled, pledged, or promoted as an incentive or reward by
any third party as an inducement for any person or other entity to enter into any
commercial or other arrangements with that third party. The
travel/accommodation costs will not be redeemed for cash. If any part of the
prize is obtained through any of these methods, it will not be honoured.

February 2018 and 31 March 2018. Only available to be purchased at the
Village Cinema Ticket Box Office of any participating Village Cinemas
locations. Offer not valid for Gold Class, 4DX, special events, group bookings,
baby friendly sessions, kidz flix, sensory friendly, senior sessions, flicks with the
chicks or movie marathon sessions. Surcharges apply for 3D, Vmax,
Vpremium and Dolby Atmos sessions. Coupon must be surrendered when
redeeming. Photocopies will not be accepted. Coupon expires on 31 March
2018 and cannot be used after the Promotion Period ends. Not for resale or

discount obtained (and the value of this prize) is up to $22.00 RRP (inc. GST).
24. Prize values are accurate as at Friday 19 October 2018. The Promoter accepts
no responsibility for any change in prize value. The winner is not entitled to
receive any money from any party if there is a difference between the maximum
prize value and the actual prize value at the time of the draw. All prize elements
are subject to availability and changes. If an Instant Win prize is not available a
replacement to the same value or above will be offered. Ticket prizes may incur
booking fees, Vmax and 3D surcharges and are not valid for Gold Class, 4DX or
Special Events.
KEY DATES
25. The Promotion commences on Tuesday 25 December 2018at 00.01am (AEDT)
and concludes on Thursday31 January 2019 at 23:59 (AEDT) or when stocks of
promotion scratch-cards are exhausted, whichever occurs first. (Promotion
Period).
26. No responsibility will be taken by the Promoter for any ineligible or lost entries or
entries submitted or received by the Promoter after the closing date. Entries that
do not comply with these Conditions of Entry are incomplete, or submitted or
received by the Promoter after the closing date will be declared void.
27. Claims for the Food and Beverage Instant Win Prizes must be made in person at
Participating Cinemas’ candy bars and must be received by the Promoter up to
Thursday 31 January 2019 during Participating Cinema opening hours. Claims for
the ticket offer (ie: Two for one traditional tickets) must be redeemed at
Participating Cinemas between Friday 1 February 2019 and Sunday 31 March
2019 during Participating Cinema opening hours. Proof of purchase may be
requested to claim Instant Win Prizes.
HOW TO ENTER
28. To enter the Promotion an Entrant will be required to:
i. Purchase any drink and popcorn combo during the Promotion Period at a
Participating Cinema specified on the dedicated Promotion webpages on
the website www.villagecinemas.com.au(Participating Cinemas), to
receive a scratch card. The scratch card will have a latex area that can be
scratched off. Under this latex area, there will be one of the below
sentences:
• Congratulations! You have won a Choc Top!
• Congratulations! You have won a Connoisseur Ice Cream!
• Congratulations! You have won a Small Popcorn!
• Congratulations! You have won a Small Soft Drink!
• Congratulations! You have won a Smiths Chips!

ii. Entries for the Major Prize (Win A Chance to Win $1M) must be made online
at www.villagecinemas.com.au/competitions/summer-promotion.
iii. Entrants in the Major Prize draw must be a Vrewards Member and include
all entry details including scratch card unique code. If Entrant is not a
Vrewards member, they must join Vrewards to be eligible for the Major Prize.
Entrants will receive one entry into the draw per purchase & scratch card
unique code entered.
iv. The Drawn Participant must be available to participate in the Game in
accordance with the Prize Conditions set out in these Conditions of Entry.
v. Winner must keep scratch card and receipt of purchase in safe place, as
it may need to be presented at any time required by the Promoter before
any prize is awarded.
vi. Claims for food Instant Win Prizes must be made in person at any
Participating Cinema by no later than Thursday 31 January 2019during
Participating Cinema opening hours. The scratch card must be
surrendered at time of claiming an Instant Win Prize.
29. Any cost associated with accessing the Promotion website is the Entrant’s
responsibility and is dependent on the Internet service provider used.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS & VERIFICATION
30. All entries in the Promotion may be subject to verification by the Promoter,
including:
i. Entrants MUST retain their receipt of purchase (evidencing their
qualifying purchase) for all entries submitted as proof of purchase (Proof
of Purchase) and winning scratch card. Entrants may be required to,
within 7 days of being asked to do so, send their Proof of Purchase to the
Promoter in order to validate their entry. A reply paid address will be
provided to Entrants. Entrants must also retain a photocopy of the Proof
of Purchase submitted for verification purposes. The Promoter
recommends that Entrants send their Proof of Purchase via registered
post, however this is not a Condition of Entry; and
ii. All Entrants MUST also deliver to the Promoter (by a means reasonably
determined by the Promoter) copies of any other documents the
Promoter may request establishing eligibility to enter or win the
Promotion, including but not limited to evidence of age, residence or
identity. The Promoter may make one or more requests for such
documents. Once the identity of documents available is established, an
Entrant must deliver requested copies within 7 days of being asked to
do so. At the Promoter’s request, an Entrant MUST also, within 7 days of
being asked to do so, allows the Promoter to inspect a copy of the
original of any such document.
31. The Promoter may, at its absolute discretion, disqualify any Entrant and declare
any or all entries made by an Entrant invalid if Entrant/s:
i. Tampers with the entry process, including use of any automated entry
software or any other mechanical or electronic means that permit the
Entrant to automatically enter repeatedly; or
ii. Tampers with the operation of the Promotion or web site or found to be
using multiple aliases, household addresses or email addresses; or
iii. Acts in a disruptive manner; or
iv. Fails to establish their entitlement to enter the Promotion to the
Promoter’s reasonable satisfaction; or
v. Fails to produce items as required or produces items that, in the
Promoter’s opinion, are illegible, stolen, forged, reconstructed, altered,
incomplete or tampered with in any way; or
vi. Acts in violation of these Conditions of Entry.
32. One entry per eligible Combo Purchase. Any Entrant found to be sharing any
receipt or other proof to demonstrate Proof of Purchase with any other Entrant,
whether or not related in any way, will have all entries invalidated and will not
be able to claim a prize. If such an Entrant is awarded a prize and then found to
have breached this clause, the Entrant must immediately return any awarded
prize to the Promoter.
ENTRY DETAILS
33. Entrants can only enter in their own name.
34. Entries to the Major Prize draw are deemed to be received at the time of receipt
in the Promotion database and NOT the time of transmission by the Entrant and
NOT the time of purchasing a combo.
35. Incomplete, illegible or incorrect entries, entries which are not in the required
format or which contain offensive of defamatory comments, or which breach
any law or infringe any third party rights, including intellectual property rights, are
not eligible to win the prize.
PRIZE WINNERS
36. To the full extent permitted by law, the Promoter, its related bodies corporate
and agencies exclude all liability for any loss (including any damage, claim,
injury, cost or expense) which is suffered or incurred by any Entrant and/or prize
winner in connection with the Promotion or prizes, including:
i. Any indirect, economic or consequential loss or loss of profits;
ii. Any loss arising from the negligence of the Promoter, its related bodies
corporate and agencies;
iii. Any liability for personal injury or death.
37. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any tax implications that may arise
from the prize winnings. Independent financial advice should be sought by the
winners.
38. The Promoter, other entities associated with this competition and their related
bodies corporate, and each of their officers, employees and agents shall not be
liable for and shall be held harmless in respect of any loss, damage, or injury
whatsoever which is suffered (including but not limited to direct or consequential
loss) or sustained, as a result of or arising from the winner’s acceptance and use
of the prize, except to the extent that any such liability cannot be excluded by
law.
39. Entry details remain the property of the Promoter. Acceptance of the prize is
deemed to be acceptance by the winner of these Conditions of Entry and
approval to use the winner’s name and photograph for publicity purposes, unless
specifically requested by the winner not to do so at the time of entering the
competition. The winner may be required to participate in a media interview/s
and/ or other promotional engagement as determined by the Promoter.
40. If the competition does not run for its duration due to, but not limited to,
computer viruses, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures
or any other cause beyond the Promoter’s control that corrupts or affects
administration, security, fairness or proper conduct of the competition, the
Promoter reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual who
tampers with the entry process. The Promoter will not be responsible for:
i. Malfunction, delay or traffic congestion on any telephone network or line,
computer on-line system, servers or providers, computer equipment,
software, or website;
ii. Failure of any entry to be received by the Promoter as a result of those
matters; nor
iii. Any injury or damage to Entrants or any other person related to or resulting
from participation in the competition or downloading any materials
relating to the competition.
41. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any late, lost or misdirected entries due
to technical disruptions, network congestion or for any other reason.
42. In the case of the intervention of any outside act, agent or event which prevents
or significantly hinders the Promoter’s ability to proceed with the Promotion on
the dates and in the manner described in these Conditions of Entry, including but
not limited to vandalism, power failures, tempests, natural disasters, acts of God,
civil unrest, strike, war, act of terrorism, the Promoter may in its absolute discretion
cancel or reschedule the Promotion, subject to state legislation.
43. The Promoter is not responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate information, either
caused by the user or for any of the equipment or programming associated with
or utilised in this Promotion, or for any technical error, or any combination thereof
that may occur in the course of the administration of this Promotion including
any omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission,
communications line or telephone, mobile or satellite network failure, theft or
destruction or unauthorised access to or alteration of claims.
44. The Promoter and its related bodies corporate and companies assume no
responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in
operation or transmission; communications line failure, theft or destruction or
unauthorised access to, or alteration of entries, and reserve the right to take any
action that may be available.
45. Any attempt to deliberately undermine the legitimate operation of this
Promotion may be a violation of criminal and civil laws and should such an
attempt be made, whether successful or not, the Promoter reserves the right to
seek damages to the fullest extent permitted by law.
PERSONAL INFORMATION
46. All claims and any copyright subsisting in the claims become and remain the
property of the Promoter. The Promoter collects personal information about
Entrants to include Entrants in the promotion and where appropriate award any
offer. If the personal information requested is not provided, the Entrant may not
participate in the Promotion.
47. By participating in the Promotion, each Entrant also acknowledges that a further
primary purpose for collection of Entrants’ personal information by the Promoter
is to enable the Promoter to use the information to assist the Promoter in
improving goods and services and to contact Entrants in the future with
information on special offers or provide Entrants with marketing materials via any
medium including mail, telephone and commercial electronic messages (SMS
(Short Message Service), MMS (Multimedia Message Service), IM (Instant
Messaging) and email) or any other form of electronic, emerging, digital or
conventional communications channel whether existing now or in the future.
Personal information may also be accessed by the Promoter’s marketing and
website service providers for the purpose of processing and conducting the
promotion and assisting with marketing communications.
48. The Promoter will also disclose Entrant personal information to third parties
contracted to supply and deliver certain Instant Win Prizes on behalf of the
Promoter. By entering the Promotion, each Entrant agrees that the Promoter
may use and disclose Entrants’ personal information in this manner.
49. Entrants can request to gain access to, update or correct any personal
information by contacting the Promoter at the address or phone number below.
Entrants wishing to opt out of the Promoter’s marketing communications can also
use the address below. All personal information will be stored at the office of the
Promoter or its contacted third parties or using the Promoter’s or its contracted
third parties’ information technology systems.
FUTHER TERMS AND CONDITIONS
50. Printing and other quality-control errors will not invalidate an otherwise valid prize
claim. Unless otherwise due to fraud or ineligibility under these Conditions of Entry,
all prize claims in excess of the advertised prize pool will be honoured. Scratch
cards are void if stolen, forged, mutilated or tampered with in any way.
51. There will be a total of 100,000game cards printed for this Promotion. Printer

52. Printing and other quality control errors will not invalidate an otherwise valid prize

pool has been exceeded. Printing errors or other quality control matters will not
be used as the sole basis for refusing to award a prize.
