Just when you thought it was safe to go back in the water, Steven Spielberg’s classic thriller has just been released on Blu-ray. This Hollywood groundbreaker plays out in the seaside community of Amity, which finds itself under attack by a dangerous great white shark, propelling the town’s chief of police (Roy Scheider), a young marine biologist (Richard Dreyfuss) and a grizzled shark hunter (Robert Shaw) on a desperate quest to destroy the beast before it strikes again. The Jaws restoration process – which was conducted in conjunction with Spielberg – has enhanced the film’s visceral detail and sharpened the iconic terror-inducing soundtrack, making that step back into the water all the more real... Jaws is available on Blu-ray from August 22.
