Eligibility
To be eligible you must:
a. be a permanent resident of Australia,
b. be aged 18 years or over, and
c. not be employed by CHOICE, one of our Board members or be an immediate family
member of someone who works at CHOICE.
How to enter the competition
1. This competition is a game of skill.
2. You can enter the competition by providing:
a. an original photograph example of a nominated Shonky product, service or
experience, and
b. a description in 200 characters or less, and
c. the hashtag #spotashonky on Twitter or Instagram
3. Enter using:
a. the competition page on the CHOICE website page spotashonky.choice.com.au, or
b. Instagram – but your post must be accompanied with the hashtag #spotashonky, or
c. Twitter - but your tweet must be accompanied with the hashtag #spotashonky
d. Facebook in the designated competition post each Friday in September, 2018
e. On the CHOICE.Community forum designated competition thread
4. When submitting a nomination, you must agree to the terms and conditions (see below) and
agree to a CHOICE staff member contacting you if we need more information about your
nomination.
5. Any cost associated with accessing the competition website is your responsibility and is
dependent on the internet service provider you use.
Terms and conditions of entry
1. CHOICE reserves the right to check each submitted entry and to delete or deny any entry
that we think is incomplete, a duplicate, indecipherable, illegible, or that may be offensive
or inappropriate to the game of skill criteria.
2. Each entry, including the image you send us, becomes the property of CHOICE. This
means we can use the image to, for example, promote the issue on our website or social
media channels.
3. We respect your privacy. All your personal details will be held in accordance with the
CHOICE Privacy Policy, available at choice.com.au/privacy-policy.
4. By entering the competition, you grant CHOICE an exclusive, royalty-free, irrevocable,
perpetual, worldwide and transferable license (including the right to sub-license) to use the
footage and photographs for promotional and marketing purposes, including online social
networking sites.
Determination of competition winners and their prizes
1. At the end of each week in September 2018 and prior to the Shonky Awards on 4th
October 2018 while the competition is running a judging panel will choose three entrants
to receive a CHOICE membership comprising full CHOICE website access and a
CHOICE magazine subscription for one year.
2. The prize winners will be chosen at CHOICE’s premises, being 57 Carrington Rd,
Marrickville, NSW 2204.
3. The prize winner must be contactable within 7 days at the email address, address or
phone number, or Instagram account details provided on their entry. If CHOICE can’t
contact the winner within 7 days, then a new winner will be selected. CHOICE reserves
the right to forfeit the prize or select a new winner in the event of an entrant not claiming
the prize.
4. The total prize value is correct as of 24/08/18.
5. Prizes are not exchangeable, transferable or redeemable for cash. CHOICE's decision is
final.
6. Only prize winners will receive written notification.
Personal Information and Privacy
1. By entering the competition you consent to CHOICE using your personal information
including name, and any other information provided to CHOICE as part of the entry
without remuneration, limitation or restriction, including for promotional and advertising
purposes. For example, we may use your name and entry image to promote the Spot-AShonky
website. CHOICE adheres to its Privacy Policy which is available online at
choice.com.au/privacy-policy
2. Entrants can request access, provide updates, opt-out or correct their personal
