Win a cruise to the Melbourne Cup! - DECK CHAIR CRUISING TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF ENTRY FOR CARNIVAL CRUISE 8 NIGHT
MELBOURNE CUP CRUISE GIVEAWAY
1: To enter this competition entrants must follow the instructions provided in the competition
announcement on the online platform the competition is held. Entry is limited to Australian
residents living in Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, Tasmania, South Australia and Northern
Territory only. Residents of Western Australia and Australian Capital Territory are not eligible to win
the competition. Only one entry per person during the promotional period will be accepted.
2: A winning entry will be drawn at random; the first entry drawn with three vaildated friend emails will
win. Only entrants who provide three valid friend’s emails will be eligible to win. Incorrect email
addresses will be disqualified from the competition prior to draw.
3: The competition commences on the 1st September 2015 at 9:00am EST and will close on the 30th
of September 2015 at 5pm EST.
4: Total prize pool is valued at $4,700 AUD. Prize includes a Twin Balcony cabin on the 8 night
Melbourne Cup Cruise with Carnival Cruises departing Sydney on the 30th October 2015, transfers to
and from the Melbourne Cup and two adult tickets to the Melbourne Cup. Tickets are not
transferable or redeemable for cash. All prize values are the recommended retail value in Australian
dollars and are correct at time of printing. The Promoter takes no responsibility for variations in the
prize value.
5: Participants must be 18 years of age or over to enter. Employees of Discovery Rentals PTY LTD,
their immediate families and companies associated with this promotion are ineligible to enter.
6: Winners will be drawn at random from all valid entries received during the promotional period.
The draw will take place at the Discovery Rentals PTY LTD offices located Suite 16, Level 1, 3 Dennis
Road, Springwood QLD Australia 4127 at 10am EST on the 1st of October 2015.
7. Due to the close nature of the Melbourne Cup Cruise Sailing to the completion of the competition,
Discovery Rentals PTY LTD reserves the right to redraw the competition if the winner does not
respond to email correspondence by the 8th of October 2015 at 10am EST.
8: Prize winner will be notified via email, on www.dccruising.com.au/blog and announced on Deck
Chair Cruising Facebook page.
9: For Deck Chair Cruising privacy policy, see www.dccruising.com.au All prizes are subject to
availability, non‐transferable and not exchangeable, and must be used on the dates date specified in
clause 4. Winners must be able to attend the event on the date specified. Discovery Rentals PTY LTD
will not be responsible or liable if for any reason beyond their reasonable control any element of any
prize is not provided. The Promoter may, subject to State regulations, substitute a different prize of
equivalent value in place of any prize referred to in these terms and conditions. The prize does not
include any other costs of a personal nature not stated. This prize must be taken as stated and no
compensation will be payable if the recipient is unable to use it as stated.
10: It is a condition of entry that the Promoter has the right to publicise, broadcast and
communicate to the public the names, characters, likeness and voice of any entrants for any
promotion or matter incidental to the Promotion. Entrants may be required by the Promoter to
participate in any photo, recording, video and/or film session(s) (the “publicity materials”) and
acknowledge that the Promoter has the right to use such publicity materials in any medium
(including the internet) and in any reasonable manner it sees fit, unless that person advises the
Promoter at the time of entering the Promotion that he/she wishes to retain his/her anonymity. By
entering any Deck Chair Cruising Carnival Cruise competition, the entrant warrants that the
submission (and any part thereof) is their own work, or that they have any permissions necessary
from the owner of the material to reproduce and distribute the work, and gives permission for Deck
Chair Cruising to publish this content through its social media, website and E‐Newsletter.
11: All emails entered will automatically be placed on Deck Chair Cruising’s newsletter database.
Participants are able to unsubscribe from newsletter communication at any time.
12: To the extent permitted by law, all entrants release from, and indemnify the Promoter against all
liability, cost, loss or expense arising out of acceptance of any prize(s) or participation in the
Promotion including (but not limited to) loss of income, loss of opportunity, personal injury and
damage to property, whether direct or consequential, foreseeable, due to some negligent act or
omission or otherwise.
13: All decisions and actions of the promoter relating to the promotion and/or redemption of the
prizes are exercised at its absolute discretion and are final. No discussions or correspondence with
entrants or any other person will be entered into.

16: The prize winner and the winner’s travelling companion will be subject to the terms and
conditions of Carnival Cruise Line.
