What are the prize details for this competition?
Win a Double Pass to see The Trip to Italy - First there was the six-part TV series The Trip, then they cherry picked the finest comedy moments and cut it into a feature film (The Trip, 2010) and now Steve Coogan and Rob Brydon are back with a sequel bearing the brilliant tag line ‘Anyone for seconds?’, featuring more impersonations than ever, more inane conversations and certainly the most terrible Steven Hawking joke of the franchise so far. Farewell to the shackles of PC culture and dull, lowest common denominator comedy, The Trip to Italy is an intelligent, banter-filled scenic drive that will have your neurons firing at record speed and your taste buds demanding to go out for pasta afterwards. The film gives fans more of what they love from comedian best mates Coogan and Brydon as they embark on another restaurant tour, but this time they’re out of the Lakes District (goodbye Wordsworth and Coleridge) and on fresh and beautiful turf, cruising around Italy in a Mini Cooper following the trail of more poets (hello Lord Byron and Percy Shelley). Some moments touch on a more sombre side of the semi-fictional characters, mainly with the task of exploring mortality, and while Coogan takes a more passive and moody role than in the first film, stewing on his relationship with his teenage son (don’t fret, he is still hilariously dry and quick-witted, especially when it comes to insults) Brydon is the main course this time around. Director Michael Winterbottom (The Look of Love, 24 Hour Party People, A Mighty Heart) has a perfect yet invisible touch in selecting the funniest and warmest moments from these two comedians who improvise with brilliant chemistry. One of our favourite jokes comes at Michael Bubl?’s expense so keep your eye out for that old-fashioned zinger burger. Oh wait, it’s in the trailer. Perfect. The Trip to Italy is a must-see for your comedy education. To win 1 of 15 double passes to see The Trip to Italy just tell us in 25 words or less ‘Who is your favourite comedic duo (real or imagined) and why?’ The Trip to Italy is in cinemas 29 May, 2014.
