WHO CAN ENTER?Entry is open to residents of Australia and New Zealand, who are aged eighteen years (18) to thirty (30) years of age from the commencement of the promotion (“the Entrant”). PROMOTIONAL PERIOD:
The Promotion (“the Promotion”) commences on Tuesday 20th December 2016 at 14:30 (AEDT) and concludes on Friday 3rd March 2017 at 23:59 (AEDT).
HOW TO ENTER:
Round 1: Entrants must, during the Entry Periods set out in Clause 5, log on to http://www.discoverychannel.com.au/discovery-intern-competition or The Discovery Intern app at https://www.facebook.com/DiscoveryChannelAU and follow the prompts to upload their best travel photo, taken at home or anywhere in the world. The top fifty (50) Entrants will be chosen by Discovery, based on originality, creative merit and relevance to the theme of the Promotion. These top fifty (50) entries will be posted on the Discovery Facebook page to be voted on by the public, between Monday 9th January 2017 and Sunday 22nd January 2017. The twenty-five (25) Entrants with the most votes (“Votes”) will each become a runner-up (“the Runner-Up”) and proceed to Round 2.
i. Entrants in Round 1 may enter a maximum of three (3) times, however each entry must be unique and of a different subject
ii. Round 2: The twenty-five (25) Runner-Ups with the most Votes will receive a notification by email advising them of the instructions of how to submit their entry for Round 2, including but not limited to how to upload a second travel photo, accompanied by an up to 250 word blog. These top twenty-five (25) Runner-Ups will be posted on the Discovery Facebook page to be voted on by the public between Monday 6th February 2017 and Sunday 9th February 2017. The five (5) Runner-Ups with the most Votes will become the finalists (“the Finalists”) and proceed to Round 3.
i. Runner-Ups in Round 2 may enter only one (1) entry.
ii. The second photo must be unique to the photo uploaded in Round 1 and of a different
subject
iii. Should a Runner-Up not submit their Round 2 entry by 23:59 (AEDT) on Sunday 5th
February 2017, then that Runner-Up will be disqualified and the number of Runner-Up entries will reduce.
iii. Round 3: To become the (“the Winner”), the five (5) Finalists will undergo an interview (“the Interview”) with a panel from Discovery Networks. The Interview will be held in Sydney, Australia either in person at the Finalist’s cost or over Skype. The Finalist will be judged as the Winner, based on originality, creative merit and relevance to the theme of the Promotion as demonstrated in the Interview, will win the Prize.
i. Finalists must be available for the Interview at the time agreed upon with the Promoter. Should the Finalist not attend the Interview at the agreed time, that Finalist will forfeit their entry.
ii. Any cost (such as travel to and from and/or internet or phone costs) associated with the interview are not the responsibility of the Promoter.
6. All entries must be the Entrant’s own and original work. By submitting an entry, the entrant represents and warrants that they have full right, title and interest in the copyright to the photo used in their entry and are not in breach of any third party intellectual property rights. The Promoter will not be liable should the Entrant upload an entry that is not the original work of the Entrant.
7. The Promotion may be advertised online, on-air, radio and outdoor.
8. Illegible, incomprehensible, and incomplete entries will be deemed invalid.
9. The Promoter reserves the right to request Winners to provide proof of identity, proof of residency at the nominated Prize delivery address, and/or proof of entry validity in order to claim a Prize. Proof of identification, residency, and entry considered suitable for verification is at the discretion of the Promoter. In the event that a Winner cannot provide suitable proof, the Winner will forfeit the Prize in whole and no substitute will be offered.
10. The Promoter reserves the right to verify the validity of entries and disqualify any entry which, in the opinion of the Promoter, includes objectionable content, profanity, potentially insulting, inflammatory or defamatory statements, disqualify any Entrant who tampers with the entry process, who submits an entry that is not in accordance with these Terms and Conditions of Entry, or who has, in the opinion of the Promoter, engaged in conduct in entering the Promotion which is fraudulent, misleading, deceptive, or generally damaging to the goodwill or reputation of the Promotion and/or the Promoter. This includes, but is not limited to, Entrants and households using multiple email addresses or postal adresses to register single or multiple entries. The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify a Winner if the Promoter becomes aware that the Winner and/or the Winner’s entry is of a type described in this clause.
11. Any Entrant found to be using any form of software or third party application to enter multiple times (including scripting software) will have all entries invalidated and any claim to the Prize will be invalidated. If such an Entrant is awarded a Prize and then found to have breached this clause, the Entrant must immediately return any awarded Prize to the Promoter. The Promoter has sole discretion to determine if this clause has been breached by any Entrant. The Promoter reserves the right to request whatever documentation it deems necessary to confirm if the Entrant has breached this clause. An Entrant must provide any requested documentation to the Promoter upon request.
PRIZE:
i. economy flights for the Winner from their nearest capital city to Sydney airport
ii. economy flights between prize locations
iii. two (2) to four (4) star accommodation in each location
iv. basic travel insurance
v. Daily spending allowance of $AUD100.00
vi. Transfers to and from airports to accommodation
vii. one (1) smart device to the value of up to $1,000.00. with up to $500.00 worth of data
16. The total Prize value is up to $AUD30,000.00 (including GST).The smart device data is to be used during the fulfillment of the Prize only. If any data is remaining after the Winner fulfills the Prize, then that data will be forfeited.
