Win a trip for 2 to LA + an AGON premium gaming monitor! - The Independence Day Resurgence Contest (AOC) The Independence Day Resurgence Contest (from now on, “THE CONTEST”) is organised by MMD Singapore Pte Ltd (from now on, “THE ORGANISER”). The contest will run simultaneously in several participating countries from the Asia Pacific: South Korea, Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia, Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Taiwan and the Philippines. THE CONTEST will be subject to the next terms and conditions (from now on, “THE TERMS”). Participation in THE CONTEST means the participant accepts and agrees to the following rules of THE CONTEST and its respective TERMS: THE CONTEST Contest name: SEND A MESSAGE TO THE ALIENS Contest period: 23rd June – 8 July 2016 Voting deadline: 12 July 2016 Mechanics: Step 1 – Write down your message (no more than 30 words) to the aliens and take a picture of yourself with the message * Note: The message can be written in your first language, which will be translated to English for judging purposes. Step 2 – Fill in your particulars and upload the picture to the microsite Step 3 – Share your entry on your Facebook page and get likes from your friends on the microsite WINNER SELECTION 60% of the total marks will be based on the number of votes/likes on the microsite 40% of the total marks will be awarded by AOC (20%) and FOX (20%) respectively Example: An entry receives 35 votes / likes x 60% = 21 AOC awards it 18 points out of 20 = 18 FOX awards it 16 points out of 20 = 16 TOTAL MARKS = 55 All eligible entries from participating countries will be centralised. The entry with the highest marks will be chosen as the Grand Prize winner. Entries with the second and third highest marks will be chosen as second and third prize winners accordingly. THE PARTICIPANT Participants must be at least 18 years old to be able to participate in the contests (from now on “THE PARTICIPANT”). Each participant can only submit one entry. Employees of MMD Singapore Pte Ltd and their family members, or anyone else connected in any way with the competition, shall not be permitted to enter. THE COMPETITION There is no entry fee and no purchase is necessary to enter this competition. The competition will open officially on 23 June 2016 and entries can be submitted until 8 July 2016 at 23:59 (following the respective local time zones of each country). Submitted entries can continue to collect votes until the voting deadline on 12 July 2016 at 23:59 (following the respective local time zones of each country). Each person is entitled to vote for 5 times ONLY (for own submission or other submissions listed in the gallery). In the event of any illegal voting actions detected, organiser reserves the right to remove the said entry without prior notice. After the dates stated above, no further entries to the competition will be permitted and no further votings will be calculated as part of the scores. The organiser is not responsible for any entries that are not received for whatever reason. Upon confirmation of a deletion request, the organiser will proceed to remove the entry and shall not be held responsible for deleting the said entry. The organiser reserves the right to cancel or amend the competition, these terms and conditions, and prizes without prior notice. The organiser's decision in respect of all matters to do with the competition will be final and no correspondence will be entered into. The competition and these terms and conditions will be governed by the laws of each respective country and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of those countries. The organiser reserves the right to reject any photos that, at our exclusive criteria, is offensive (eg. contains nudity, pornography, promotes illegal drug abuse, represents crime in any nature, law violations or is inappropriate in any other way). The organiser is authorised to use all materials submitted by PARTICIPANTS for promotion and advertisement in AOC’s social media without any compensation. The photos are subject to revision to make sure the PARTICIPANT complies with the TERMS. THE WINNER Only ONE (1) grand prize winner, ONE (1) second prize winner,  ONE (1) third prize winner will be selected from the participating countries. The winners will be chosen according to the abovementioned judging criteria and announced on each respective country's AOC Facebook page two weeks after the closing date on 22 July 2016. The judging result is FINAL and no disputes will be entertained. If the winners cannot be contacted or does not claim the prize within 14 days of notification, the organiser reserves the right to withdraw the prize from the winner and pick a replacement winner. The winners agree to the use of his/her name and image in any publicity material. Any personal data relating to the winners or any other entrants will be used solely in accordance with current data protection legislation and will not be disclosed to a third party without the entrant’s prior consent. The organiser will be permitted to record a short testimonial video and use any photos of the winner's trip to the 20th Century Fox Studio Tour in Los Angeles for promotional purpose. The winners will cooperate with the organiser on promotions upon request. The winners will absorb any additional local taxes for the prizes, if any, based on their country's tax compliance.
