TERMS & CONDITIONS – SAVOUR SUMMER COMPETITION
These terms and conditions govern the requirements for entry into the Savour Summer competition.
This competition is owned and managed by Restaurant & Catering Industry Association of Australia Incorporated trading as Restaurant & Catering Australia (R&CA).
This competition starts at 8:00am on 1 December 2016 and closes at 11:59pm on 28 February 2017 (“Promotional Period”).
1. Entry requirements
All entrants must meet the following requirements:
all entrants must be an Australian resident and aged 18 years and over.
instagrammers must capture and share a photo of their favourite dish served by an Australian restaurant or caf� using the hashtag #SavourSummer or #SavourSunshine.
tag the establishment where the photo is taken via the location setting in the Instagram app.
photographs eligible for the prize must be taken during the Promotional Period.
register at savoursummer.com.au with their Instagram name and email address to be eligible.
other tags and handles associated with this contest and its promoter are: #SavourAus @SavourAus and @RestCatering. Use of additional tags is welcome.
all photos submitted must be the entrants’ own work.
confirm that any persons depicted or visible in photos consents to their image being used on the Savour Summer website.
photos submitted must not contain any material which is defamatory, offensive, inflammatory or is otherwise in breach of Instagram’s terms and conditions.
R&CA reserves the right to delete, de-tag or flag as inappropriate any photo it deems unacceptable.
all entrants agree to grant to R&CA a perpetual, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to reuse the image for promotion.
winners agree to take part in any publicity activities and to the use of their names and photographs in such publicity as reasonably required by R&CA.
employees of R&CA (and their immediate families) are not eligible to enter. In these terms and conditions, “immediate family” means spouse, ex-spouse, de-facto spouse, parent, step parent, step, natural or adopted child, and sibling (whether step, natural or adopted by a parent), grandparent, step grandparent, uncle, aunt, niece, nephew or first cousin.
in addition to complying with these terms and conditions, entrants must also comply with the terms and conditions of Singapore Airlines, outlined under clause 5 ‘Flight terms and conditions’.
2. Judging criteria
The judges of this competition will take the following into account in deciding the winner:
an image that best encapsulates the theme of summertime dining in an Australian restaurant or caf� during summer.
photos that depict outdoor dining experiences will be viewed favourably.
use of shares, tags and handles that help promote the competition.
the judges’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
posting unacceptable material will be disqualified from the competition.
The promoter encourages entrants to share their photo with friends and share the competition’s marketing images.
3. Promoter details
Savour Summer is a social media competition promoted by R&CA.
Savour Australia is a registered trademark of R&CA.
The theme for Savour Summer 2016-17 is ‘alfresco dining’, with the prize awarded to the image that best encapsulates the theme of summer dining in Australian restaurants.
The competition is in no way sponsored, supported, endorsed or organised by Instagram. Instagram and the Camera logo are trademarks of Instagram, LLC.
Singapore Airlines is the airline sponsor associated with this promotion. By checking the box located on the registration page of the Savour Summer website upon, entrants consent to the use of their email address by the promoter and competition sponsors.
4. Winner notification and prize details
The winner will be notified by email and/or telephone within a reasonable time after the close of the competition.
If the prize is not claimed after fourteen (14) days of R&CA notifying the winner, R&CA may select an alternative winner. The alternative winner must comply with these terms and conditions.
The winner will receive two return flights to Seoul, Korea courtesy of Singapore Airlines. Refer to Singapore Airline’s terms and conditions located in clause 5 ‘Flight terms and conditions’ for further details.
R&CA will offer the winner a meal for two at a restaurant of R&CA’s choosing with details to be notified within a month from determining the winner of the competition.
The meal may or may not include matching wines.
Main prize winners will be informed of the conditions of their meal prize in writing.
5. Flight terms and conditions
Singapore Airlines will offer Two (2) return Economy Class tickets to Seoul, Korea flying Singapore Airlines. The following conditions apply to this prize:
Travel is to be on Singapore Airlines services to/from Adelaide only (SQ278/SQ277/SQ276 and SQ279).
The tickets are for return travel in Economy Class. Upgrades at passenger’s expense are permitted, please contact Singapore Airlines Adelaide for details.
The recipient is responsible for all applicable government and security taxes and levies, insurance surcharges and airport charges. These taxes must be paid at least five working days prior to travel.
Travel must be between 01April 2017 and 31 March 2018. Travel must be fully completed by 31 March 2018.
No travel permitted between the following dates: 28 September 2017 – 02 October 2017, 19 December 2017 – 06 January 2018 and 10 February 2017 – 24 February 2017
Maximum stay is up to 3 months abroad.
Travel is subject to availability at the time of booking.
Prize-winner must book the flights within 2 (two) months of notification of winning the prize
Changes including, but not limited to date changes, rerouting and name changes are not permitted after ticketing.
Prize consists of one ticket registered in the name of the prize-winner and a traveller of their choice.
Tickets cannot be on sold in any way.
If prize-winner cannot travel for any reason, one ticket (the prize-winner’s) is forfeited.
The prize-winner must use the two (2) tickets within the same booking, and the passengers must travel with each other at all times including the same flights, itineraries and dates.
Any accommodation en-route/stopover whether by choice or circumstance is at the recipient’s own expense.
Prize, and therefore tickets are non-transferable, non-refundable and not redeemable for cash.
Tickets which remain unused after the expiry date of the agreement (31 March 2018) shall be deemed null and void.
Recipient of the prize must ensure they obtain all relevant visa requirements and ensure their passport has a minimum validity of six months.
No frequent flyer points will be given as part of the prize.
The recipient of this prize is responsible for all travel costs to and from the point of departure; this includes accommodation, spending money, visa requirements, travel insurance, freight, excess baggage, meals and any other expenses.
Travel Insurance is strongly recommended by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade for all overseas travel. Singapore Airlines recommends seeking advice about travel insurance.
No preferred seating is available for this booking.
No Singapore Stopover Holidays or Basic Singapore Stopover Holidays are applicable for this booking.
All special meals including dietary requirements must be advised at least 3 working days prior to departure.
Children under the age of 18 are not eligible to enter.
The original prize letter must be presented at time of booking. Booking must be made by the Singapore Airlines Adelaide office.
Singapore Airlines staff and family members are not eligible to enter.
Prize-winner must adhere to Singapore Airlines conditions of carriage.
6. Prize redemption requirements
All travel expenses including accommodation, insurance and spending money, are at the prize winner’s own expense.
Entrants must not have a criminal record and must be legally allowed to travel
Entrants must be physically and medically fit to travel.
All prizes are non-transferable and not redeemable for cash.
Winners must hold a valid passport with at least six months’ minimum validity.
Winners must ensure they meet all relevant visa requirements for the chosen destination.
Prize-winner must adhere to Singapore Airlines conditions of carriage as outlined in their terms and conditions (clause 5). In relation to travelling on board a Singapore Airlines flight, save for clause 7 below, should any of these terms and conditions conflict with Singapore Airline’s terms and conditions, the terms and conditions of Singapore Airlines take precedence.
7. General
To the extent permitted by law, R&CA (including its officers, directors, employees, contractors, agents and affiliated entities) is not responsible for and excludes all liabilities (including exclusion of all liabilities for negligence, personal injury, illness and death of any person), losses, expenses, damages, costs, claims, demands, proceedings, actions and suits (whether or not direct, indirect, special and/or consequential) arising as a result of or in connection with any of the following:
any technical difficulty, equipment malfunction, problem with networks or communication lines, traffic congestion, infection by computer virus or bug, bad weather or act of god occurs;
any theft, fraud, unauthorised, unexpected or third party access, interference or intervention occurs;
any act, omission, failure or delay occurs which is not reasonably within R&CA’s control, or which corrupts or affects the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the promotion;
entry or prize claim that is late, lost, altered or damaged, whether or not due to the R&CA’s act, omission or fault;
variation in prize value to that stated in these terms and conditions;
entrant’s or other person’s participation in this promotion;
damage caused to any prize in transit before the prize winner takes possession;
tax liability incurred by a winner or entrant;
use or misuse of the prize;
invalidation of any entry;
disqualification of any entrant; and/or
any cancellation, termination, modification or suspension of this promotion.
To the extent permitted by law, R&CA (including its officers, directors, employees, contractors, agents and affiliated entities) is not responsible for and excludes all liability (including exclusion of all liability for negligence, personal injury, illness and death of any person), losses, expenses, damages, costs, claims, demands, proceedings, actions and suits (whether or not direct, indirect, special and/or consequential) arising as a result of or in connection with an entrant or their guest taking part in prize.
It is the responsibility of the winner and their prize companions to ensure that they are checked in for their flights, and arrive at the airport, at the time specified by Singapore Airlines. R&CA is not responsible for any costs associated with the winner or their prize companions missing any of their flights.
