Terms and Conditions of the #YHABeyondSydney Competition

CONTEST COMMENCEMENT AND CLOSING TIME
Information on how to enter and the prizes form part of these Terms and Conditions. Participation in this contest is deemed acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.
The “#YHABeyondSydney Competition” (the “Contest”) begins on 1 November 2016 at 01.00AM AEST and ends on 15 December 2016 at 11.59PM AEST Sydney time - (the “Contest Period”).
ELIGIBILITY
The Contest is open to all persons aged 18 or over at the time of entry. Entrants must be in Australia to redeem their Prize.
Employees and their immediate family members of YHA Australia and YHA Ltd and companies associated with this Contest are ineligible to enter.
To be eligible to enter the Contest, individuals must vote for their favourite activity and submit an original response to the question ‘Tell us why you'd love to experience it in 25 words or less’.
ENTRY METHODS
To enter the Contest, individuals must submit their entry on the competition page http://woobox.com/8idkb5 – also embedded on yha.com.au and on Backpacking Mate Facebook page tab.
Incomplete or indecipherable entries will be deemed invalid.
Multiple entries permitted, subject to the following: (a) each entry must be substantially unique; and (b) each entry must be submitted separately and in accordance with entry requirements.
By entering the promotion and opting to receive newsletters, your email will be stored and may be used for promotional purposes by YHA and/or Destination NSW.
DECISION
This is a game of skill and chance plays no part in determining the winners. Each entry will be individually judged based on the originality and creative merit of the entry submitted.
The winner of the Prize will be judged and selected at YHA Ltd Head Office at 3/9 Castlereagh Street, Sydney 2000 NSW no later than 13 January 2017.
The winner of the Prize will be contacted by email, his/her name will be announced on the Backpacking Mate Facebook Page no later than 19 January 2017.
If the winner of the Prize cannot be contacted within 1 month of the announcement, a new winner will be selected by the Promoter.
The Promoter’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
PRIZE
The best valid entry (i.e. only one Prize), as determined by the Promoter, will win a trip to Sydney and beyond (“the Prize”), consists of the following components:
2 x return economy flights to Sydney from the winner’s closest capital city in ACT, NSW, VIC, SA or QLD
2 x 5 nights ePack YHA accommodation
2 x Blue Mountains Overnight Tour, staying at Blue Mountains YHA, operated by Colourful Trips;
7 day car hire with Hertz, subject to conditions of rental
2 x 1 activity from the list below, chosen by the winner when he entered the competition:
2 x Skydiving experience in Wollongong or Newcastle, operated by Skydive Australia
2 x Abseiling Adventure, operated by High N Wild, Blue Mountains;
2 x 1 hour quad bike tour, operated by Sand Dune Adventures, Port Stephens
2 x Double Pass for River Kayaking, operated by Go Sea Kayak Byron Bay
2 x bike riding, operated by YHA Hunter Valley
2 x double pass Bridge Climb experience, operated by Bridge Climb in Sydney
All prize components are subject to availability and subject to the specific terms of the supplier.
The Prize, or any unused portion of the Prize, are not transferable or exchangeable and cannot be taken as cash. Also the Prize cannot be on-sold on auction websites, classifieds or by other method of re-sale; and used for any other promotions/competitions.
The Prize is valid for travel between 19 January 2017 and 31 July 2017 (block out periods apply). The Prize must be redeemed as a whole (all components outlined above) no later than 31 May 2017.
All Prize components are for two people and must be booked together on the same tour/activity and cannot be redeemed separately.
Flights will be booked in economy class, on the basis of the best available rates at the time of booking with one (1) piece of checked baggage per person and subject to the carrier’s usual baggage allowances. The carrier will be determined by the Promoter.
Flights must be booked at the same time and the Prize Winner and their travelling companion must travel on the same flights.
The Prize is subject to the terms and conditions of the entities supplying the Prize or components of the Prize.
Travel arrangements to and from the Prize Winners nearest flight departure capital city airport are the responsibility of the Prize Winner and do not form part of the Prize.
Winners must be 20 years old or over to rent the car with Hertz and must meet their requirements.
Hertz will provide seven day standard vehicle rental (excludes Hertz collections of prestige, adrenaline, dream, Fun, Family). The vehicle is subject to availability at the time of request.
Drivers must hold a current license which complies with Hertz standard requirements and rental conditions.
A daily surcharge of $16.50 (incl GST) applies to drivers 21-24 years of age, capped at 7 days per 30 day rental period. Age restrictions may apply to select vehicles.
No one way rentals are permitted.
Inclusions in the prize: Collision Damage Waiver, Location Fee, Vehicle Registration Recovery, Admin Recovery, and GST on these items.
At the time of collection of the car, a credit card number must be provided as security and to purchase any of the above additional optional items as required.
A $100 petrol bond is payable by credit card at commencement of the rental and is credited back to the renter’s account at completion of the rental.
The abseiling activity includes abseils of three different heights, 5m, 15m and 30 metres.
Meals aren’t included in the Prize. All other elements not noted above are the responsibility and cost of the winner of the Prize. This includes but is not limited to items of a personal nature.
All flights, accommodation and tours must be booked at least 30 days in advance to the Prize Winner’s intended travel dates and the dates must be flexible as all Prize components are subject to availability at the time of booking. Frequent Flyer points may not be accrued nor used to upgrade travel.
Once booked, no changes can be made to the bookings. If the Prize Winner can no longer travel for any reason after the Prize is booked, the Promoter does not take responsibility for the winner losing parts or all of the components of the Prize as a result, no substitute will be offered.
Travel insurance is the responsibility of the Prize Winner and their travel companions. The Promoter is not liable for any costs incurred if the Prize Winner and/or their companions travel without insurance.
It is highly recommended that the Prize Winner purchases travel insurance as it is not included in the Prize.
As a condition of accepting the Prize, the Prize Winner may be required to sign any legal documentation as and in the form required by the Promoter and/or Prize suppliers in their absolute discretion, including but not limited to a legal release and indemnity form.
GENERAL
As a condition of entering this Contest, each entrant licenses and grants the Promoter, its affiliates and sub-licensees a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual, worldwide, irrevocable, and sub-licensable right to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish and display their entries for any purpose, including but not limited to future promotional, marketing or publicity purposes, in any media, without compensation, restriction on use, attribution or liability.
The Promoter (including its respective officers, employees and agents) excludes all liability (including negligence), for any personal injury; or any loss or damage (including loss of opportunity); whether direct, indirect, special or consequential, arising in any way out of the Contest.
Entrants consent to the Promoter using their name, likeness, image and/or voice in the event they are a winner (including photograph, film and/or recording of the same) in any media for an unlimited period without remuneration for the purpose of promoting this Contest (including any outcome), and promoting any products manufactured, distributed and/or supplied by the Promoter.
If this Contest is interfered with in any way or is not capable of being conducted as reasonably anticipated due to any reason beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter, including but not limited to technical difficulties, unauthorised intervention or fraud, the Promoter reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to the fullest extent permitted by law: (a) to disqualify any entrant; or (b) to modify, suspend, terminate or cancel the Contest, as appropriate.
This Contest is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Instagram, Facebook or Twitter. Entrants understand that they are providing their information to the Promoter and not to Instagram, Facebook or Twitter. The information an entrant provides will only be used for the purposes outlined in these Terms and Conditions. Any questions, comments or complaints about this Contest must be directed to the Promoter and not to Instagram, Facebook or Twitter. Instagram, Facebook or Twitter will not be liable for any loss or damage or personal injury which is suffered or sustained by an entrant, as a result of participating in the Contest (including taking/use of the Prize), except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law.
