PROMOTIONAL PERIOD:
The Promotion commences at 00.01 AEST on 01 December 2014 and closes at 23.59 AEST on 15 January 2015 (“PromotionPeriod”).

WHO CAN ENTER?

The Promotion is only open to Qualifying Entrants who, on the date of entry, are legal residents of Australia and is void in any other country. Emirates shall not be taken to make any representations, express or implied, as to the lawfulness of any individual’s participation, or as to any other aspect of the Promotion.
HOW TO ENTER:
The Promotion must be entered as per any instructions set out for the Promotion on the Website. All entries must be received via the Website no later than 23.59 AEST, 15 January 2015 (the “Closing Date”). No entries will be accepted after the Closing Date. Incomplete or indecipherable entries will be deemed invalid and Emirates accept no responsibility for entries which are incomplete, illegible, lost or delayed in transit.
To register for the Promotion, Qualifying Entrants must, during the Promotion Period, book and pay in full for an Emirates return economy, business or first class flight ticket via the Website with point of origin and sale as Australia (the “Qualifying Ticket”) and then register their booking number on the Promotion landing page on the Website. In order to be in with a chance of winning, the Qualifying Entrant must describe in 25 words or less ‘Who and why they would like to win the Australian Open’. Flight tickets must be purchased for return journeys. One way flight tickets will not be eligible for entry into the Promotion. All applications are subject to acceptance by Emirates. The entrant agrees that Emirates shall not be liable as a result of any refusal or failure to accept an application and no compensation shall be payable to any person in consequence of such action.
One first place winner will be chosen from all eligible entries validly submitted (“Winner”). The Winner will be chosen based solely on creative writing merit of their entry as determined by the judging panel. The judging will take place at Emirates, Level 17, 1 York Street, SYDNEY NSW 2000 at 12:00 AEST on the 19 January 2015.
PRIZE:
One first place Winner will receive 2 (two) match tickets to the Australian Open Men’s Finals on 1st February 2015 with access to the Emirates AO lounge (shared hospitality area) and a VIP behind the scene tour (the “Prize”)
The Winner and Guest will be responsible for their own accommodation, transfers and travel to and from the Australian Open.
The Prize includes nothing other than that expressly stated to be included as part of the Prize. Proof of age may be required before the Prize can be given. Emirates reserves the right to substitute the prize for another prize of equal or greater value, should the need reasonably arise.
Allocation of Tickets shall be at Emirates sole discretion. The Tickets shall be subject to applicable terms and conditions which apply to the possession and use of the tickets. The Tickets are non-transferable except as set out in the ticket conditions and cannot be sold, encashed or given away in any circumstances. Tickets cannot be used for commercial or promotional purposes.
The Prize is non-transferable and subject to availability. If a Winner or Guest is unable to utilize the Prize no cash alternative will be provided.
All other expenses associated with redeeming the Prize (including but not limited to food, travel, flights, accommodation other than as provided for under these Terms), travel insurance and any other incidental costs and expenses shall be borne by and are the responsibility of the Winner and Guest.
Emirates shall not be liable for any failure to comply with their obligations where such failure is caused by events outside their reasonable control, including but not limited to, weather conditions, fire, flood, hurricane, strike, industrial dispute, war, hostilities, political unrest, riots or any other circumstances amounting to force majeure.
Emirates accept no responsibility for any damage, loss, liabilities, injury or disappointment incurred or suffered by the Winner or Guest as a result of entering or participating in the Promotion or accepting the Prize.
In the event that a Winner cannot be contacted; fails to confirm acceptance of the Prize within 5 (five) working days of receiving notification; or is ineligible for entry into the Promotion then Emirates reserves the right to substitute them with another Qualifying Entrant of its choice. In the event that a Prize is unclaimed, the judging will take place at Emirates, Level 17, 1 York Street, SYDNEY NSW 2000 at 10.00 AEST on 26 January 2015, subject to any written directions from a regulatory authority. The Winners will be notified by email within 2 [two] working days of the draw. Emirates take no responsibility for incorrect contact details provided by the Winner.
