Entry to the competition is open to all Groupon customers in Australia over the age of 18 years with internet access, other than employees, managers and directors of the Promoter, their related companies and agencies, and their immediate families (“Eligible Entrants”).
ENTRY
The promotion commences on Friday 8 March 2019 12.01am ADST (the “Promotion Period”) and ends on Friday 22 March 2019 at 11.59pm ADST (the “Promotion Period”).
To enter, Eligible Entrants must purchase an Event Cinema General Admission ticket on www.groupon.com.au during the Promotion Period.
One entry is permitted for every Event Cinemas General Admissions ticket purchased through the Promoter during the Promotion Period. For the avoidance of doubt, multiple entries are permitted for one single Eligible Entrant.
PRIZE & WINNING
One (1) entry made by Eligible Entrants will be selected as the winning entry by a random draw by a representative of the Promoter. The random prize draw will take place at Noon (12pm) AEDT on Monday 25 March 2019 (“Draw Dates”) at Level 17, 9 Hunter Street, Sydney NSW. This decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
Each winning entry will entitle the winner to receive a year’s worth of Event Cinemas General Admission tickets for two people i.e. two Event Cinemas gift cards. (“Prize”). Event Cinemas locations can be found at www.eventcinemas.com.au.
The total Prize pool value is $2,444.
The winners will be notified by email address provided and have their details published on facebook.com/groupon.au no later than 5pm ADST on Monday 25 March 2019. (Note: if published on the internet, publish for a minimum period of 28 days).
If there are any unclaimed or un-awarded Prizes due to ineligibility or other reasons, a Prize redraw will be conducted on Thursday 18 April 2019 at Noon (12pm) AEST and same place as the original draw. If a winner is drawn they will be contacted by email address provided and have their names published www.facebook.com/groupon.au no later than 5pm AEST on Thursday 18 April 2019.
If an Eligible Entrant’s contact details change, it is the Eligible Entrant’s responsibility to notify the Promoter in writing.
PRIZE CONDITIONS
The Prize is non-transferable. The winner must take the Prize as described in these Terms and conditions, and the Prize cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer. This clause does not set out to limit any rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
No responsibility is accepted for any variation in the value of the Price.
All ancillary costs or accessories not expressly provided are the responsibility of the winner.
Gift cards are valid for 3 years from date of purchase. Valid for use at Event Cinemas, BCC, GU Film House or Greater Union locations. Not valid for use at Village Cinemas. Not valid for use in Victoria or Tasmania. This gift card is valid to the date indicated or until a $0 balance is reached, whichever occurs first. This gift card can be used for admissions and/or for food and beverage items available in cinemas or online at eventcinemas.com.au. Event Cinemas cannot replace or refund lost or stolen gift cards. Treat your gift card like cash and keep it in a safe place. Gift cards cannot be reloaded with any additional dollar value and the validity date cannot be extended. Design choice for your gift card is subject to availability and may change without prior notice. If your purchase is more than the current credit amount available on your gift card, you can make up the full amount with another type of tender accepted in our cinemas or online. Every time the card is used at the cinema, a receipt stating the remaining balance may be requested. Movie gift cards cannot be used to purchase any gift voucher, other gift card or merchandise purchase through experiencethis.com.au, giftshop.eventcinemas.com.au, eventcinemas.com.au or at cinema box offices. Booking fees may apply for online cinema bookings. Any balance remaining on the gift card after expiry date will not be available for use or change. Movie gift cards and any amount standing in credit on the gift card cannot be redeemed wholly or partially for cash and no cash advances can be made at any time, regardless of whether there have been one or more transactions on the gift card. The balances of several gift cards cannot be consolidated onto a new card. No refunds, other than those required by law, will be given after the date of purchase. Gift cards cannot be transferred or sold without the prior written permission of the Greater Union Organisation Pty Limited (GUO). Any use of the company name, images or logos must have the prior written consent of GUO. Movie gift cards will be void and will not be redeemable if they are defaced, mutilated, altered or tampered with in anyway. GUO may subject gift cards to verification and security checks in its absolute discretion. GUO reserves the right to cancel any gift card, or the gift card scheme, for any reason at any time without notice.
