What is the ACMF Songwriting Competition?

Each entry requires an MP3 or M4A audio file, accompanying lyrics in .DOC or .PDF format, and a completed entry form. Entries must be submitted individually, with no limit on the number of songs entered.
Who is eligible to enter the ACMF Songwriting Competition?
The ACMF Songwriting Competition is open to Australian school students aged 17 or younger, from kindergarten to year 12, including homeschooled children. Entrants must be residents of Australia and have written or co-written the song without external assistance from non-students.
How is the winner selected?
Winners are selected through a preliminary judging round followed by a final judging panel. The judges' decisions are final, and no correspondence will be entered into regarding the outcomes. The focus of judging is on songwriting rather than production values.
How will the winner be notified?
Winners will be informed via phone and/or email after the judging process is completed. The results will also be posted on the ACMF website, and a Prize Claim letter will be sent to the winning entrants.
What happens if the prize is unclaimed?
If a prize is not claimed within four months of issuing the Prize Claim letter, it will be forfeited and remain the property of the ACMF. Prizes cannot be exchanged for IT equipment but may include specialised music software.
