Win tickets to the Wendall & Wootton Talks - Deep dive into Moonlight and examine the appeal of the starlets of the Golden Age with two of cinema's finest. One of the academic highlights of the Melbourne International Film Festival are the annual Wendell and Wootton Talks, wherein LA-based developer and writer Wendall Thomas and Film London & The British Film Commission CEO Adrian Wootton hold forth on, well, any topic they sit fit to address, really. This year Thomas is doing a series of seminars entitled Wendall Thomas Talks Scripts, with one day-long lecture each devoted to structure, dialogue, and character, plus a very special in-depth look at last year’s indie hit, the Oscar-winning Moonlight. Meanwhile, Wootton will be delivering his Wootton Talks Film Femmes lectures series: four lectures each focusing on a single iconic Golden Age actress: Lauren Bacall, Judy Garland, Gloria Grahame, and Ingrid Bergman. We have two double passes for Wootton Talks Femmes – one for Gloria Grahame on August 9 and one for Judy Garland on August 8 – and one single pass for Wendall’s Spotlight on Moonlight session on August 8 to give away.
