About the film
The story is set in a dystopian future world. To escape, the population live out their lives in the virtual reality world of THE OASIS. This virtual reality world is the creation of inventor, and 1980’s pop culture fan, James Halliday. Upon his death, Halliday announces in his will that he has left an Easter Egg inside The Oasis. The first person to find it will inherit his entire fortune and the corporation.
Ready Player One follows protagonist Wade Watts and his friends in their search for the Easter Egg before it falls into the hands of an evil corporation. What begins as a high stakes virtual treasure hunt quickly escalates to an epic life-or-death battle in both the real and VR worlds.
