The Flickerfest & Specsavers Competition offers participants the chance to have their "Should’ve Gone to Specsavers" TV commercial aired on national television and at the 36th Flickerfest film festival in Bondi, as well as on its national tour in 2027. This competition is organised by Flickerfest Pty Ltd, with Specsavers Pty Ltd as the prize provider.
What are the prizes for the Flickerfest & Specsavers Competition?
The competition offers five finalists a $20,000 cash prize, flights, and accommodation for Flickerfest Bondi 2027 if residing outside Sydney. The major prize winner, chosen from these finalists, receives an additional $50,000 cash prize. Finalists' commercials may be aired nationally and during the Flickerfest tour, with a total prize pool value of $150,000.
When does the competition close?
The competition closes at 7:00 PM AEDT on 18 November 2026. Participants must ensure their entries are submitted before this deadline to be considered.
How do I enter the competition?
To enter the competition, participants must create a 30-second TV commercial based on an original idea and upload it via the Flickerfest Film Freeway entry portal. The commercial must include the Specsavers end frame with logos and tagline. Entries must comply with specified technical requirements and be submitted within the entry period.
Who is eligible to enter the Flickerfest & Specsavers Competition?
The competition is open to all Australian residents aged 18 and over. Participants under 18 need parental or guardian consent. Employees and immediate families of Specsavers, Flickerfest, or their marketing agencies are ineligible to enter.
How is the winner selected?
