Win one of two double passes to see Karakorum: A Medieval Musical Journey The Weekend Edition

If you’ve ever wished that you could time travel right back to the 13th century just to take in the sights and sounds, then you’re in luck! Thanks to William of Rubruck’s vividly detailed account of his extraordinary mission along The Silk Road, the forgotten hymns, melodies and chants of the time are able to be reimagined for your listening pleasure for one magical night. To celebrate, we’re giving you and a friend the chance to see the show like a VIP.
You’ll start the evening with a glass of wine and a decadent two-course dinner at Bacchus. The modern Australian menu will have you drooling in anticipation with dishes like snapper burnt sashimi with blue-tea dashi, yoghurt and lime, and the hanger steak with smoked eggplant and camel curd. After dinner, you’ll make your way across the road to QPAC’s Concert Hall for the main event with two A-reserve tickets to see Karakorum: A Medieval Music Journey, brought to you by the talented Australian Brandenburg Orchestra!
Be transported from west to east as acclaimed Australian actor David Wenham (Moulin Rouge, Lion) narrates the tale of 13th-century Flemish monk William of Rubruck, supported by the French ensemble La Camera delle Lacrime performing on an array of rare and ancient instruments – including the erhu (a Chinese two-stringed fiddle), kamanche (an Iranian bowed-string instrument), cornasmuse (a double-reed instrument dating from the Renaissance period) and a vielle à roue (a French hurdy-gurdy).
