What is the Zoos SA Photo Competition?
The Zoos SA Photo Competition is an exclusive opportunity for members of the Royal Zoological Society of South Australia Inc. to showcase their wildlife photography. Participants can submit photos capturing memorable moments at Adelaide Zoo or Monarto Safari Park. The competition aims to highlight the beauty and diversity of wildlife, with winning entries featured in the 2027 Zoo Times Member Calendar.
What are the prizes for the Zoos SA Photo Competition?
The Zoos SA Photo Competition offers three main prizes. The Grand Prize includes two Keeper for a Day experiences at Adelaide Zoo or Monarto Safari Park (RRP $661) and a feature on the cover of the 2027 Zoo Times Member Calendar. The Second Prize is a choice between a Red Panda Experience or Cheetah Experience for two (RRP $206). The Third Prize is a $100 Zoos SA Retail Gift Card. Additionally, 12 outstanding photographs will be featured in the 2027 Member Calendar.
When does the competition close?
The competition closes at 11:59 PM ACST on Monday, 31 August 2026.
How do I enter the competition?
To enter the competition, participants must submit their photographs via the official competition Jotform link provided by Zoos SA. Images should be in JPEG or HEIF format, with a maximum file size of 1GB per image. Each entrant can submit up to 10 original photographs that they have created and own.
Who is eligible to enter the Zoos SA Photo Competition?
The Zoos SA Photo Competition is open to current Zoos SA Members who are Australian residents aged 16 years and over. Employees of Zoos SA, its Board members, contractors directly involved in the administration of this competition, and their immediate families are not eligible to enter.
How is the winner selected?
Winners are selected by a panel of Zoos SA staff based on creativity, photographic quality, and how well the images capture the spirit of Zoos SA and the theme “Share Your Wild Moments.” Judging is final, and no correspondence will be entered into regarding the decision.
How will the winner be notified?
Prize winners will be notified via the phone number and/or email address provided with their entry. Winning photographers may also be announced on the Zoos SA website, social media channels, and other promotional materials.
